What it does

The PURETA HQCBC-10-5 is a coconut-shell activated carbon block rated at 5 microns nominal — a tighter rating than a typical 10-micron block, so it captures finer particulate while it polishes taste and odor. It reduces chlorine, taste, and odor, along with a broad range of organic compounds, at the final stage of a filtration system.

Coconut-shell carbon is prized for its high adsorption capacity and clean finish. This cartridge is tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material safety by an independent laboratory — an added assurance you won’t find on every carbon block.

It’s built to standard 2.5″ OD × 9.75″ length (10″ × 2.5″) dimensions and drops into common standard housings used in whole-house, under-sink, and reverse-osmosis systems. Use only with water that is microbiologically safe and adequately disinfected.
