What it does

This inline sediment pre-filter sits at the very beginning of your filtration lineup — Stage 1 in most RO and multi-stage systems. Its polypropylene media catches particles down to 5 microns (sand, silt, sediment, rust flakes, dirt), preventing them from clogging or damaging the finer filters and the RO membrane downstream.

Without proper sediment pre-filtration, particles accumulate on the carbon and membrane surfaces, reducing flow rate and shortening filter life. This inexpensive filter takes that hit instead — protecting the more expensive stages and keeping the whole system running efficiently.
