Proline’s full-port PVC ball valve gives you fast, reliable on/off flow control on any 3/4″ NPT threaded line — the shutoff you install before and after a filter system so future service is a quick turn of a handle, not a house-wide shutdown.

What it does

A quarter-turn ball valve is the simplest reliable way to isolate a section of plumbing: handle in line with the pipe = open, handle across the pipe = closed. Install one on the inlet and one on the outlet of your filter system and every future filter change becomes a two-valve turn instead of shutting off the whole house.

This is a full-port design — the hole through the ball is the same diameter as the pipe, so when the valve is open there’s essentially no flow restriction. Both ends are 3/4″ FNPT (female threaded), so a standard 3/4″ MNPT nipple or threaded pipe threads directly into either end.

Key benefits

  • Quarter-turn on/off — instant open, instant closed, no leaks from a slow-drip gate valve
  • Full-port design — no flow restriction when open
  • 3/4″ FNPT × FNPT — standard fit for whole-house filter shutoffs
  • Rated to 150 PSI — well above typical residential water pressure (40–80 PSI)
  • Corrosion-proof PVC — won’t rust, seize, or leach into potable water
  • Bright red handle — easy visual confirmation of open/closed state

Compatibility

✓ Works with
  • 3/4″ NPT threaded pipe (PVC, copper, brass, poly)
  • 3/4″ MNPT union nipples — threads directly in
  • Whole-house filter installs (one before, one after the system)
  • Cold potable-water lines up to 150 PSI
× Not for
  • Hot-water lines (PVC softens at high temps)
  • Gas, compressed air, or industrial chemicals
  • Solvent-weld (glued) pipe — this valve is threaded, not socket
  • 1″ or 1/2″ NPT pipe (wrong thread size)

Good to know before you buy

  • Use PTFE thread tape. Both ends are FNPT threads without an O-ring — the seal is on the threads themselves, so tape or thread sealant is required.
  • Standard install: one valve on the inlet, one on the outlet of your filter system. Isolates the system for filter changes without shutting off the house.
  • Don’t over-tighten. Hand-tight plus 1–2 turns with a wrench is usually enough. Cranking on PVC threads cracks the valve body.
  • Handle in line with pipe = open. Handle across pipe = closed. If you can’t reach the handle when installed, you may need a longer stem valve or repositioned install.
  • Cold water only. For hot-water lines, use a brass or CPVC ball valve instead.
