What it does

This is a bulk-value refill for a 2-stage (dual) slim 10″×2.5″ system — eight complete sets in one box, so you buy years of filtration at the lowest cost per set. Stage 1 sediment catches the grit; Stage 2 is a dependable carbon block that reduces chlorine, taste, and odor. The matched pair means the sediment stage protects the carbon, so both do their job for their full life.

How long does eight sets last? It’s marketed as a “2-year supply,” which assumes a change roughly every three months on heavier water. At the more typical 6–12 month interval, eight sets cover about 4 to 8 years — a genuine long-term supply for most homes. Your water quality and usage set the pace.

The value is in buying ahead: at $65 for eight sets, that’s about $8 per set ($8.13 exactly) — the lowest per-set price we offer on a dual set. All cartridges fit standard 10″ × 2.5″ housings used in most dual whole-house and under-sink systems with a 3/4″ port.

Good to know before you buy

Value vs. premium carbon. This pack uses our standard carbon block — dependable chlorine, taste & odor reduction at the lowest cost per set. If best-in-class taste is your priority, the premium coconut-block pack (SCBCO-1Y) is the step up.

Confirm your housing size first. These are slim 10″×2.5″ cartridges (9⅞″ × 2.5″). Big Blue 10″×4.5″ housings need the wider set instead — this one won’t seal.

Install in flow order. Sediment first (inlet side), carbon block second. Reversed, the carbon clogs with grit and wears out early.

On chloramine? This isn’t the set. Carbon block reduces chlorine well but not chloramine — that needs catalytic carbon. If your city uses chloramine (its annual water report will say), choose a catalytic set.

Store spares sealed, flush on each change. Keep unused cartridges in their wrap, cool and dry; run water to drain a few minutes after installing new carbon.

Please note: Filter life and reduction performance depend on your water chemistry, pressure, and usage, so results vary from home to home. This product is not certified to treat water of unknown quality and is not a substitute for testing your water. Descriptions use general, qualified language and are not health claims. When in doubt, test your water or ask us and we’ll help you build the right stack.
