Description
TDS-3 Digital Water Quality Meter
How to Take a TDS Reading
For accurate results, TDS readings must be taken at least 4–6 days after system installation or filter replacement.
New carbon filters may release fine carbon dust during the initial use period, which can temporarily affect (“fool”) TDS readings.
This carbon dust is typically flushed out after 4–5 days of normal use.
Testing Procedure:
- Collect three water samples (4–8 oz each):
- Pure (filtered) water
- Waste (reject) water
- Tap/source water
Important Note:
If your RO system includes a mineral, alkaline, KDF, calcite, or remineralization post-filter, the pure water sample
must be taken immediately after the RO membrane, before the mineral or alkaline stage.
