This advanced catalytic carbon + KDF-85 filter cartridge is designed to help reduce a wide range of chemical contaminants while providing enhanced treatment for iron, hydrogen sulfide, and heavy metals. By combining premium catalytic carbon with KDF-85 redox media, this cartridge delivers broader performance compared to standard GAC carbon filters.
The catalytic carbon component effectively reduces chlorine, chloramine, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S – “rotten egg” odor), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), industrial solvents, and unpleasant taste and odor.
The added KDF-85 media enhances treatment through redox reactions, helping to reduce iron (at low levels), heavy metals, and sulfur-related odors, while also inhibiting bacterial growth within the filter media.
Compared to standard GAC cartridges, this combination offers improved performance for chloramine, sulfur odors, iron-related taste and discoloration, and trace organic contaminants.
