Description
Our premium high-flow carbon stage: coconut-shell granular activated carbon that delivers superior chlorine, taste, odor, and VOC reduction — with the minimal pressure drop only a GAC bed can give.
What it does
The CGAC-10BB fills its Big Blue shell with premium coconut-shell granular activated carbon. As water flows through the carbon bed, the granules adsorb chlorine and the organic compounds (VOCs) behind bad taste and odor — and coconut carbon’s finer micropore structure gives it a real edge on taste polishing and small organic molecules compared with standard GAC.
You keep GAC’s signature advantage: flow. Water moves through a granular bed far more freely than through a solid carbon block, so this cartridge treats whole-house flow with minimal pressure drop. The coarse 25-micron rating reflects its role — a chemical-adsorption stage, not a fine particle filter.
Think of it as the best of both worlds for a two-housing system: coconut carbon’s taste performance at GAC’s flow rate. In three-housing systems it runs as the pre-carbon stage — sediment first, CGAC second, and optionally a carbon block as the final polish.

Good to know before you buy
Coconut GAC vs. standard GAC. Both flow freely and reduce chlorine. Coconut carbon’s finer micropore structure adsorbs small taste- and odor-causing organics more effectively — if you’re choosing GAC for drinking-water taste, this is the upgrade. If you just want bulk chlorine knockdown at the lowest cost, GAC-10BB does the job.
GAC vs. carbon block. A granular bed gives you maximum flow; a block (CTO / CACB) gives you finer 10-micron filtration and polishing. Best of both: run this cartridge ahead of a block in a 3-stage system.
Sediment first, flush on install. Keep SED5-10BB ahead of any carbon stage, and run new GAC to drain for a few minutes until the harmless carbon fines clear.
